It's all a bit fishy!

Over the weekends of 18th/19th June and 2nd/3rd July the Scouts and Explorer Scouts went to the Les Webber Angling Project at Datchet near Windsor for a weekend’s fishing.
Day one consisted of a whistle stop tour of the art of angling and a chance to practise what they had learnt – for some the patience required to sit still and wait for the fish to bite was a serious challenge and for others trying not to tangle your fishing line was equally challenging!

After an evening barbecue we watched a DVD and then settled down for a night’s sleep before embarking on a competition on the Sunday morning. The Scout competition was won by Callum Lackey and  Zahan Vachha who caught 17 fish between them in 2 ½ hours. The Explorer Scout Competition was won by Matthew Boyer who caught the most fish on the Explorer Scout Weekend.

However, perhaps the biggest achievement of both weekends was Will’s catch of the biggest fish of the weekend – and to prove that this is not a fishy tale we are able to show you the photographic proof!
